Obedience and Authority

Today the class took a quiz, reviewing Monday's human nature topic. Afterwards, we began examining the power of authority and it's influence over individual obedience. We had a 'fake-out' where students experienced personally accepting and obeying new rules, watched a documentary on the 'Stanford Prison Experiment' and 'Milgram Shock Experiment', as well as began to look at historical case studies displaying how obedience to authority against individual moral can be dangerous. Students were asked to reflect on their personal experience obeying authority earlier in the class period, as well as what they recognized in their case studies.
